 Christmas Fruit Cookies Recipe

Christmas Fruit Cookies Ingredients:
  • 1/3 pint molasses
  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 1/4 lb. lard
    1/2 pint. buttermilk
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts
    1/2 lb. mixed fruit, ground
    1/2 cup raisins, ground
    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon cloves
    1/2 teaspoon soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1-1/2 lbs. sifted flour

Christmas Fruit Cookies
Time: 1 hour
Serves: 6

Christmas Fruit Cookies Instructions:

  • Mix all of the ingredients together. This is a very stiff dough. Put in refrigerator overnight. Roll, cut in shapes and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. While warm, frost with powdered sugar and milk frosting. Sprinkle with colored sugar.

Christmas Fruit Cookies Cooking Time:
  • Cooking time 10 minutes hour.
  • Allow to cool before serving.
  • Store in an airtight container.
Christmas Fruit Cookies Serving Instructions:
  • Serve with Tea or Coffee.
  • Great at Christmas Parties.
